It all started early in 2009, at the end of January I was sick of my results in business and completely hated my day job as an electric meter reader.

I worked in surrounding areas of Detroit and never liked being outside when it was freezing cold and walking from house to house in 2 feet of snow to read a 5-digit number a couple hundred to a couple thousand times a day. It was really one of those jobs that you never want… Trust me!

You, me or anyone would get fed up working outside in cold weather and being in constant fear of dogs attacking me and my car having winter “issues” that I decided to quit my job at the end of January.

I walked into the office and gave them my clothes and said I quit and haven’t needed to go back and get a job since.

Shortly after I quit my job I started plugging away blogging and trying to work out a potential partnership with a friend.

I soon realized that the partnership wasn’t going to work out how I had planned. The numbers were off and the amount of leads that the partnership generated would have not been enough to pay my bills full-time.

I started blogging more and getting a little more traffic but i quickly realized that without leveraging other people to work for me or forming partnerships I wouldn’t move too fast.

I joined a 3-month long social media coaching program that cost $1,300.

The majority of the coaching program was teaching twitter… I learned a couple new things about twitter from it. The emphasis on twitter in the coaching program made me really curious so i dug deeper…

Everyone was on youtube, facebook and working those. I had learned facebook quite well and had build up a strong network and some marketing influence there that had generated leads and sales for me…

But I was really intrigued by the emphasis on twitter by the coaching program and by many other marketers.

I dug into some of the techniques that they were teaching, some working quite well and others working okay…

I started to fall in love with twitter and become addicted to it, tweeting daily and updating quite often. One day I actually woke up and started tweeting and i ended up going to bed tweeting, I think that I spent about 12 hours tweeting that day and updating over 400 times.

So you are probably wondering… Why Am I telling you all about this?

The reason why is because…

I wanted to learn everything I could about this site because I knew that there was more too it than to just get traffic and followers.  I wanted to learn every secret, tool, tip, trick, technique, tactic and strategy that anyone knew about twitter!! not just a couple “tips”.

I dug into blogs and the books out there and learned new strategies and stepped up my following, exposure and buzz even more.

I then proceeded to get every e-book and twitter course out there that I could get my hands on including different applications and software along with it!

From the money spent I learned quite a few strategies and new techniques but nothing that was *Breakthrough* or groundbreaking…
